Investigate Test Results

After a test run completes, use the Test Runs page to review results, investigate failures, and take action on findings. For an overview of what testing captures and why, see Data Quality Testing.

View test runs

  1. Select Test Runs from the menu.
  2. Optional. Use the Table Group and/or Test Suite filter to adjust the list of runs.

Each test run shows the table group and test suite, run timings and status, a summary of results by status, and a data quality score.

Drill into results

Click a test run to open the Test Results page, where you can see the outcome of every test in that run.

  • By default, results display tests with statuses Failed + Warning. Use the Status filter to view other outcomes.
  • Use the Table, Column, Test Type, and Action filters to narrow the list further.

Investigate a result

Select a result from the list to open the detail panel, which provides context for understanding the finding:

  • The History tab shows a timeline chart of the test's result measure and threshold over past runs, so you can see whether an issue is new or recurring.
  • The Test Definition tab shows the test's parameters, including the target table and column, severity, active and locked status, and threshold values.
  • Click Source Data to query your dataset for sample records that currently match the test criteria. If the source data has changed since the test run, results may differ or may no longer be present.
  • Click Issue Report to download a PDF report with a summary of the result, sample data, and the SQL query for further manual investigation.
  • Click View Profiling to see the profiling data for the column (available for column-scoped tests).
  • Click Edit to adjust the test definition's thresholds or parameters.
  • Click Export to download an Excel report of all results, only the results matching your current filters, or only selected results.

Respond to test results

After reviewing a result, you can assign an action to record your assessment:

  • Confirm — Acknowledge that the finding is a relevant issue for this run.
  • Dismiss — Mark that the finding is not relevant for this run.
  • Mute — Deactivate the test so the system does not run it in future test runs.

Select a result and click the appropriate action button. To remove a previously applied action, click Clear.

Update multiple results at once

Click Multi-Select on the Test Results page, select the results you want to update, then apply your choice.
