Run Tests

Run the tests in a test suite to detect data quality issues. Each test run evaluates your data against the thresholds and criteria defined in the suite's test definitions and produces results you can review, confirm, or dismiss. For an overview of what testing captures and why, see Data Quality Testing.

Prerequisites

  • A test suite with generated or manually defined tests. Use an existing test suite or create a new one.
  • Best practice is to regenerate tests every few weeks or when your data has evolved.

How to

  1. Select Test Suites from the menu.
  2. On the test suite that you would like to run, click Run Tests.
  3. In the dialog, click Run Tests.

    Tip

Alternatively, if you'd like to run tests from the command line, click Show CLI command in the dialog and copy the command.

  4. When the confirmation message appears, click X to close the dialog.

Tip

You can schedule test runs to execute automatically on a recurring basis. See Scheduling for details. To receive alerts when tests fail, see Notifications.

Next steps

When the test run completes, results display under Test Runs. See Investigate Test Results to review, confirm, and act on findings.
