Reports¶
Automation allows users to embed custom reports from connected tools, such as Tableau, in the Reports page.
Build recipes that extract and transform data, then send that data to your reporting tools. Link to these reports so you can share the resulting data visualizations with colleagues—directly in Automation.
View the Reports page¶
Select Reports from the menu to view the Reports page for your Automation account.
Once on Reports page, select:
- Category: to filter reports. Categories can be assigned when you add or configure a report.
- Report: to view a list of linked reports available to display.
- Actions: for the report selected, you can Configure or Delete the report.
- : to show the report in full screen.
Sign in to a reporting tool¶
A single Reports page is shared per DataKitchen customer account, not per kitchen, so everyone within a team has access. The Reports page displays a login control for users to access their external, secured reporting software.
To connect to a reporting tool, and view a certain report, follow the sign-in steps with the appropriate user credentials.
Add a report¶
From the Reports page, you can embed new reports in Automation.
- Click Add Report.
- Enter a Name for the report.
- Enter the URL where the report can be located.
- Optional. Enter a Category.
- Click Update.
Visual examples in Automation¶
While everyone in a customer account has access to the Reports page, only users with the correct credentials can sign in and view a report.

These examples embed dashboards from Tableau Online using extract URLs, after DataKitchen recipes auto-published transformed data to Tableau workbooks.
