Configure Kitchen Vaults

Users with access to a kitchen can manage that kitchen's vault connection settings.

DKCloudCommand option: Use the vault-config command in the command line interface.

Create kitchen vault connections

  1. Navigate to a Configure Vault dialog.
    • Step 5 of the kitchen creation process is dedicated to vault configuration.
    • Open a kitchen, then select Secrets from the green menu. Click Configure Vault in the Kitchen Secrets section.
  2. Select a vault service.
    • DataKitchen Default: DataKitchen provides a secure kitchen vault to all customers. No additional configuration is needed.
    • Custom: you can designate your own, externally-hosted vault service. See Configure a Custom Vault for details on how to.
    • Inherit from Parent Kitchen: your kitchen can inherit custom vault connection settings from its parent kitchen. Note that default kitchen vault connection settings may not be inherited.
  3. Finish creating your kitchen or click Update in the Configure Vault dialog.
