Configure Component Expectations

You can set expectations for when events are known to occur in the components of your data estate.

When you build journeys and investigate instances, these expectations give insight into the efficiencies—and areas for improvement—in your data operations.

Expectation types

The type of expectation you can set depends on the component:

• For batch pipeline components, set an expected schedule.
• For dataset components, set an arrival window.

View expectation results

You can find results, statuses, and details for expectations:

• On the Instances page and in the instance details.
• From the Batch Runs tab of the Events page and from the run details, for batch pipeline expectations.
