Delete Components

Delete components to maintain organized projects that represent your data estate.

The following describes how to delete a single component. To delete multiple components at once, see Bulk Component Actions.

Use caution when deleting components. This action is permanent. It cannot be undone and you cannot retrieve the data.

How to

1. Use the drop-down in the menu to select a Project.
2. Select Components from the menu > choose a component from the list.
3. Click Delete.
4. In the confirmation dialog:
   • Click Delete to delete the component.
   • Click Cancel to close the dialog without deleting.

Expected outcomes

• The component no longer appears on the Components page for the selected project.
• Associated events no longer appear on the Events page.
  • If the component was a batch pipeline, runs no longer display on the Batch Runs tab. All associated tasks and task runs are also removed.
• Any component expectations that were set are removed.
• The component will no longer be included in the journeys.
  • It will not appear in the Relationships tab.
  • Rules previously created for it are deleted.
  • Instance conditions created are removed.
• The component, its events, and its data are removed from instances where it was present.
  • Depending on the type of component that is deleted, this can be across some or all of the instance details tabs.
