Manage Components¶
Update component information and set expectations in the component details view.
The following document describes how to make changes to a single component. To update multiple components at once, see Bulk Component Actions.
How to edit components¶
- Use either of the following to open details for a component:
- Use the drop-down in the menu to select a Project > select Components from the menu. Search for and select the component you want to update.
- Use the drop-down in the menu to select a Project > select Journeys from the menu. Open a journey, select the component you want to edit, and click View.
- Click Edit.
- Add or make changes to the component name, external tool type, or description.
-
Set an expectation for the events that should occur in this component.
- An expected schedule for a batch pipeline component.
- An arrival window for a dataset component.
-
When done, click Save.
Considerations¶
- If you update a component name, events are still received by the system and associated with the correct component because the unique identifier—the key—remains the same.
- To provide better context for the infrastructure that sends events to Observability, the Tool field sets the tool type and icon that display across pages in the UI; it does not affect the integration or connection.
More actions in the component details¶
- Click View Events to open the Events page with filters applied for that component.
- If the component is a batch pipeline, click View Runs to open a filtered list of its runs.
- When a component is included in your journeys, get quick access to each one from the Related Journeys list.
- If a component isn't included in any journeys, click journey + to create a new one.
