Upcoming Instances

Observability can show you what journey instances are upcoming—so you can better understand what events will happen in your data estate, make appropriate plans, and take action.

Terms review: an instance is the execution of a journey, which represents a collection of components in your data estate responsible for creating a data analytic deliverable.

Prerequisites

For the system to show you a journey's upcoming instances, you must first set one or all of the following:

The system displays all possible upcoming instances when multiple instance conditions are set.

View upcoming instances

You can see upcoming instances as gray dots on the Company Overview and Project Overview pages. Hover your cursor over an upcoming instance dot to see the expected start and/or end time.

When you expand a journey or instance, upcoming instances are represented by the gray Gantt chart bars. In the Gantt charts, instances with known start and end times are solid gray throughout. if the expected start time of the instance is known, the bar is faced from left to right. If the expected end time is known, the bar is faded from right to left.
