Instance Details Events Tab

Select the Events tab for a list of all the events received for the journey's components during this instance.

Tip

Terms review: an event is anything of interest that happens in your data estate. After configuration, events are sent from your data estate through the Event Ingestion API to Observability. Events contain metadata to provide context about what's happened.

Event data

Depending on the metadata sent with an event, records can include:

  • The event timestamp.
  • The associated component where the event occurred, identified by name. If a name is not supplied, the value for the component key becomes the name.
  • Associated tasks, if present for the event.
  • The event type (Run Status, Metric Log, Message Log, Test Outcomes, Dataset Operation).
  • Relevant statuses and details about the event.
  • Log entries, where available.

Drill down

  • Use the Components and Event Types filters to narrow your results.
  • Use Refresh to update the page with new events and the Show/Hide Columns to customize the table.
  • Click { } View event data to open a dialog with full metadata log entries for an event.
  • Click Open external source to open a new window with details about the event or task source.

Note

Timestamps display in the UI as Mmm DD, YYYY hh:mm:ss AM/PM in the user's browser timezone. All system timestamps adhere to the ISO 8601 format YYYY-MM-DDTHH:mm:ss.sssZ. Observability assumes UTC when no timezone is specified.
