Heartbeat signal

DataOps Observability includes several integration agents that connect your local tools and assets (i.e. components) to your projects.

Each integration agent actively retrieves or receives events from a specific tool, then sends the events to the Event Ingestion API.

Heartbeat overview

After you configure and deploy an agent, the agent sends a periodic signal to Observability to indicate that it is functional.

You can monitor the signal for each agent you deploy from project's Integration page. The color and timestamp represent the latest heartbeat received by the system.

● Online: a heartbeat signal was received within the last connectivity check interval.

● Unhealthy: a heartbeat signal was last received between 2 and 4 intervals ago.

● Offline: the most recent heartbeat signal was received more than 4 intervals ago.

The connectivity check interval is set to 5 minutes by default and can be changed on the Project Settings page.

You can expect the first heartbeat signal to show up within 60 seconds of deploying an agent.
